Chimney stacks take more weather than any other part of the building and are usually the first thing to fail. We rebuild leaning and eroded stacks, renew cracked flaunching and crowns, repoint in matched mortar and replace the lead flashings and soakers that so often cause the damp on the chimney breast inside. Flues can be lined or swept, redundant stacks capped and vented to prevent condensation, or removed entirely with the roof made good. All work is carried out from scaffolding, never from a ladder.
