Professional Tuckpointing

Pointing is the sacrificial layer that protects your brickwork, and once it has eroded, water gets straight into the wall. We rake out to at least twice the joint width, never grind carelessly across the brick faces, and repoint in a mortar matched to the original for both colour and strength. On older and listed property that means a lime mortar, because hard cement traps moisture and destroys soft historic brick. Joint profiles are finished consistently across the elevation so the wall looks right rather than patchy.
